Crosby Forged Wire Rope Clips are galvanized to resist corrosion and rust, sizes 1/8” through 2-1/2” have forged bases, and sizes up through 1-1/2” have rolled threads. These wire rope clips meet or exceed all requirements of ASME B30.26 and they meet other critical performance requirements including fatigue life, impact properties, and material traceability.

US forged type wire rope clip also known as crosby g450 wire rope clips. Its body or base is drop forged. So it looks thicker and harder than other types of wire rope clips. Their finishes are usually full hot dip galvanizing or only body in HDG, bolt in zinc plating or painting. So G 450 forged wire rope clip has good fixing force and corrosion resistance.

A Crosby US forged Wire Rope Clip consists of a U-shaped bolt which fixes the wire rope cable against the saddle when the two nuts are tightened. The saddle should always be against the live portion of the wire rope and not the dead or termination end of the wire rope – this leads to the expression “Never Saddle a Dead Horse”. Two or more Wire Rope Clips are required for each eye or loop.
